Members in the News: QuickHire (Forbes)
When COVID-19 began raging in the U.S., Deborah Gladney was pregnant and working two jobs, while raising two children under five. Her sister, Angela Muhwezi-Hall, was in the hospital with the virus. The last thing you’d expect these sisters to do was start a business – which is what they did.
Holiday Hours
We will be closed on the following days for the November holiday season: 11/23, closed at noon (the day before Thanksgiving); 11/24: closed (Thanksgiving); and 11/25: closed (Black Friday). As a reminder, dedicated desk and private office members have 24/7 access to the building, so they are welcome to work during these days. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday break. We will return to regular working hours on 11/30.

FlagshipKansas.Tech joins Groover Labs. It makes sense, since its founders share the organization’s passion for technology, Wichita and Kansas. Groover Labs is a non-profit whose mission is to foster growth in the startup community by providing a location where entrepreneurs can share ideas.
Wichita Area Manufacturer’s Association Tours Groover Labs
The Wichita Manufacturer’s Association (WMA) held its monthly member meeting in our event venue on Wednesday. After the event, attendees — both in person and online — went on a tour of Groover Labs with Co-founder Curt Gridley.
Welcome New Members: QuickHire
Sisters Angela and Deborah founded QuickHire earlier this year during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. QuickHire is an app that applies swipe-based features to connect job seekers with available jobs in industries like delivery, grocers, and manufacturers.

Wichita sisters Deborah Gladney, and Angela Muhwezi-Hall, co-created the app QuickHire, a job search platform for people in manufacturing, service, retail or other similar fields outside of white-collar employment. The coronavirus pandemic pushed them to launch the app in early September.

Member News: IdeaTek Awarded $13.1 Million Grant
Buhler-based IdeaTek will receive $13.71 million from four Connectivity Emergency Response Grants (CERG) awarded by the state in response to the novel coronavirus to extend its fiber-optic network to unserved and underserved areas in parts of more than a dozen area counties.

Groover Labs coworking community member Kansas Global Trade Services is working with local startup companies in a pilot program to increase exports and diversify the Wichita-area economy. The program is called the Wichita Export Accelerator Program and could help mitigate future economic downturns.

We have three conference room sizes for use by members and non-members. Schedule a meeting or all-day offsite with us. We are located in downtown Wichita with free door-side parking. All our conference rooms have HDTVs connected to our network, and we have gigabit internet access to our building.

Today we’re announcing the second speaker for our monthly speaker series at Groover Labs. On Tuesday, September 22, at 4:30 p.m., data scientist Jennifer Akers will talk about the emerging field of data science and the important role data scientists play in retail, fintech, logistics and more.
