Groover Labs members Mark Janzen and Jacob Schlittenhardt announced their new startup, Planetary Talent, over the weekend. Mark, a longtime tech founder, angel investor, and Groover Labs board member, and Jacob, a creator and entrepreneur, met at Groover Labs, and, over time, developed the concept that became Planetary Talent.

Wichita entrepreneurs launch AI-driven recruiting company

Co-founders Jacob Schlittenhardt and Mark Janzen met a few desks apart at Groover Labs.

The two entrepreneurs, alongside India-based co-founder Rohit Ghule, realized a "storytelling problem" in the recruiting industry.

"What's happening now is people are using ChatGPT to rewrite their resumes for every job they apply for, and on the other end, employers are using ChatGPT to read all the resumes," Janzen said. "The system is very broken and there's a lot of room for a company to innovate and say, 'How do I get my story across of who I am to potential employees and how do I find ones that are interesting to me?'"

That realization led to Planetary Talent, a recruiting company that pivoted from plans of an AI-driven sci-fi game company. The company utilizes AI tools developed while planning the game to help fast-growing companies recruit and manage employees.
