Curt Gridley has led the effort to make the awards for the Tallgrass Film Festival for the past five years. The award is a wooden presentation box with lid, and inside is a glass medallion on a ribbon, with the Tallgrass logo, year, and award category etched on the medallion. Each year it is a team effort that involves woodwork, laser etching, sewing, wire work, wood finishing, some late nights, and of course lots of attention to detail. Here are some photos of making the awards this year in the makerspace at Groover Labs, plus the 2019 finished awards. We are glad to support the Tallgrass Film Festival - one of Wichita’s gem events!
