We added a new pod of desks, and we made them in the Maker Labs. Over the past few months, we’ve added a lot of new members, so we needed create some more space.
Our hotseats are the easiest and most affordable membership level we offer on a month-to-month basis. But what are they? Hotseats are open-area workstations that are available to members and day pass users on a first-come, first-served basis. They don’t have permanent owners and cannot be formally reserved.

We are thrilled to receive funding from the Building a Stronger Economy (BASE) 2.0 economic development grant for our CyberLink Infrastructure Expansion Project. BASE funds are intended to address infrastructure and economic development needs, and our grant award will allow us to continue critical projects we had to cancel or delay because of the Covid-19 global pandemic.
Congrats to all of the Groover Labs members and former Groover Labs members who were accepted into NXTUS’s 2022 Enterprise Engagement Series. NXTUS, a local nonprofit whose mission is to support entrepreneurship in Wichita, developed the Enterprise Engagement Series under its NXTSTAGE umbrella.
We're upgrading the Office Hours program! Starting in September, each Office Hours advisor will give a short talk about a topic relevant to their field. After each talk, we'll open the floor for discussion. We will then return to our regular Office Hours advisory time, where each advisor will be available to meet with eager entrepreneurs.
On Friday, 3/26, at 11 a.m., NXTCONNECT will present: How to Captivate Your Virtual Audience, a combination in-person and virtual presentation in the event venue at Groover Labs. NXTUS, Inc., is launching and will host NXTCONNECT at Groover Labs on the last Friday of each month, beginning at 11 a.m. on January 29, 2021. The program is a new series dedicated to helping provide information and connections for founders to help grow their businesses. Due to current conditions related to Covid-19, the first NXTCONNECT event will be virtual.

We started office hours to work with groups who want to support founders and startups. Foreman Law began hosting hours from 9 -12 on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. We are pleased to announce NXTUS, an organization that helps launch and grow businesses, will hold office hours at the same time.
The deadline for startups to apply for the NXTSTAGE pilot competition is Feb. 15. The competition is sponsored by NXTUS and supported by the Wichita Community Foundation.
