resources

Federal, state and local

We’ve created a list of resources for small businesses and nonprofits that have been affected by the coronavirus. We’ve separated them into three categories: federal, state and local.

If you know of other important resources, please reach out to parkerm@grooverlabs.org.

FEDERAL

[Update on EIDL]: Economic Injury Disaster Loans: EIDLs have added a $10,000 advance to provide economic relief to small businesses that are currently experiencing a temporary loss of revenue. They will be made available within three days of your application and will not have to be repaid.

[Update on forgivable loans]: Payment Protection Program (PPP): PPP authorizes up to $349 billion in forgivable loans to small businesses to pay their employees during the COVID-19 crisis. Proceeds must be used to cover payroll costs, and most mortgage interest, rent, and utility costs over an eight-week period after the loan is made and employee and compensation levels remain unchanged.

Small Business Administration (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL): The SBA approved Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly’s request for disaster declaration. If you have suffered substantial economic injury, you may be eligible for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL).

EIDLs provide the necessary working capital to help small businesses survive until normal operations resume after a disaster. The loan amount will be based on your actual economic injury and your company’s financial needs, regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage.
