We added a new pod of desks, and we made them in the Maker Labs. Over the past few months, we’ve added a lot of new members, so we needed create some more space.
Our hotseats are the easiest and most affordable membership level we offer on a month-to-month basis. But what are they? Hotseats are open-area workstations that are available to members and day pass users on a first-come, first-served basis. They don’t have permanent owners and cannot be formally reserved.
Longtime Groover Labs member and Flint Hills Group founder Dave Cunningham launched the Whiskey Shelf app at the beginning of 2023. In February, the app went live on the App Store and Google Play. We are thrilled to receive funding from the Building a Stronger Economy (BASE) 2.0 economic development grant for our CyberLink Infrastructure Expansion Project. BASE funds are intended to address infrastructure and economic development needs, and our grant award will allow us to continue critical projects we had to cancel or delay because of the Covid-19 global pandemic.

Groover Labs cofounder and Executive Director Curt Gridley has been working with Greenfield Robotics to design the electronics for the next-generation robot. Recent Campfire graduate Bethany White has a new venture. White, who enrolled in the spring session of the tech startup course, has launched Lunar, a mobile app that matches moonlighting service workers with open positions in the food and beverage industry.

Jenn White, host of NPR’s daily radio program 1A, was in Wichita last week to support local station KMUW. White, who has worked in radio since 1999, was named as 1A’s host in July 2020. Tom Shine, director of news and public affairs at KMUW, interviewed White at Groover Labs in the event venue in front of a crowd of KMUW supporters.
Our event venue was humming on Thursday, June 30, from early in the morning until close. The team from Digital Wichita and Social Media Examiner came together to host Social Media day Wichita 2022. This is our second time hosting this spirited and enthusiastic group of social media experts and influencers.
