When you sign up for a dedicated desk, it’s your desk. Unlike hotseats, which are first-come, first-served seating, a dedicated desk belongs to you. Even better, you have 24/7 access to the building.
We have a couple of open desks, so we thought we’d take a moment to describe the features of these memberships. Maybe it’s the right fit for you?
Dedicated desks are part of the foundation of our coworking space. They're located in the same area with our private offices and conference rooms. Several of our private office members joined as dedicated desk members while they waited for an office to open up.
Here’s how dedicated desk memberships work:
All memberships at Groover Labs are month-to-month.
We have two types of desks:
Traditional fixed desks: $200/mo
Sit-stand desks: $225/mo
Because the desks come with 24/7 access, you’ll undergo a light background check. There’s a one-time $25 fee. We’re usually able to turn around a membership application within a day or so.
While you’re waiting, you’re more than welcome to use our hotseats and conference rooms.
While waiting for your results, we’ll finish the new member onboarding process.
We’ll send you an email with our membership documents.
We’ll send you an email so you can activate your membership account.
After you pass your background check and sign the documents, we’ll enable door access and help you connect to the network.
Dedicated desks require 14 days’ notice before cancellation.
Here are the perks of becoming a dedicated desk member:
You’ll have access to our stable and secure gigabit fiber network over Wi-Fi or through a direct ethernet connection.
You’ll have your own dedicated desk, where you can set up and personalize your workspace with whatever tools you need to have a successful workday. For some, that means multiple monitors; for others, that means reference books and pictures of kids.
You’ll be able to unlock the front door from your mobile device.
You’ll have a lockable file cabinet underneath your desk.
You’ll be able to reserve all of our multimedia conference rooms and access soundproof private call booths.
You’ll get to hang out with some of our awesome members. They’re software developers, startup founders, marketing experts, financial advisors, game designers, and more. Plus, you’ll probably run into other Groover Labs members who are taking a break from their screens.
You can drink all the coffee you want. Local Roasters, a local artisan coffee provider, created a special Groover Labs blend for us. We keep the coffee fresh all day.
We have excellent downtown parking, and we always have a space for you (although we confess that sometimes we have big events in our event venue, and you have to park a bit farther away, but you’ll probably get leftover food from the event by some of the best caterers in town).
What else do you need to know?
“I talk on the phone a lot, and I take several Zoom calls per day. Can I still get a dedicated desk?” This is the most frequently asked question we hear, and the answer is “yes.” Most of our desk members take several calls per day. Those who aren’t on calls and would like more privacy often wear earbuds or over-the-ear headphones. And if your call requires privacy, reserve one of our conference rooms or hop into a private call booth.
