Join us on Thursday, November 19, at 4:30 p.m., to hear a panel of hybrid and electric car owners discuss their experiences with the vehicles. The panel members are:
Randy Roebuck, Executive Director of Information Technology at WSU Tech
Paul Maseberg, Software Engineer IV at AccuWeather
Curt Gridley, Co-found and Executive Director at Groover Labs
Moderator: Jason Toevs, Co-founder and CTO at Quicc
The three panelists and moderator own or have owned Toyota Priuses, Chevy Volts, and Teslas. Each of the three models mentioned above will be on display after the discussion.
Some of the panel’s topics will include:
Range: What are the benefits and limitations of hybrid and electric cars in regard to short and long-haul trips?
Batteries: How long do they last? Are they expensive to replace?
Hybrid versus electric: What are the differences between the two?
Autonomous vehicles: What are their capabilities now and in the near future years?
Open-source: There’s open-source software for semi-automated driving systems? What car models accept the code? Are we crazy?
We will have multiple Prius and Tesla owners as part of this discussion and in-person attendees will be able to see these cars up close. Short demonstration rides may be available as time allows.
This is a hybrid YouTube Live and in-person event. Event venue doors open at 4 p.m. for attendees who would like to network beforehand, and the live stream opens at 4:15 p.m. The event starts at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets are available free to Groover Labs members, $10 for non-members. Should circumstances change, we may convert the event to a YouTube Live-only format. We will notify attendees accordingly. Be advised, both formats are limited, so sign up now.
This is our fourth in a series of discussions hosted by Groover Labs featuring technology and technology experts in the Midwest. The event will be streamed on YouTube Live and will have a limited socially-distanced in-person attendance.
We will ask all in-person attendees to follow our Covid-19 safety protocols, which include mandatory face masks and social distancing. Seats in the event venue have been spaced six feet apart. Read more about our safety precautions here.
