Need PPE? We've got your back
Co-founder Curt Gridley is always trying to suss out solutions to problems. His wife, co-founder Tracy Hoover, calls him “My Mr. Better, Faster, Cheaper.”
That kind of thinking is what led him to design an ethernet switch in the 1990s that was, in fact, better, cheaper and faster.
When the coronavirus pandemic hit, Curt ordered PETG sheets for face shields. He anticipated that the plastic material would soon be in short supply.
Then he and metal lab lead Jeremiah Burian got to work.
Groover Labs is working on three separate efforts during this public health crisis. We started by sewing cloth masks and then began collaborating to supply 3D-printed headbands for face shields based on a design by PrusaPrinters. Concurrently, we also began investigating other face shield designs that could be produced on our laser cutters, using materials that could be easily cleaned and reused.
Curt and Jeremiah are busy fulfilling orders.
The low-cost shields are available here.
