Kansas Micro-Internship Program
Groover Labs is excited to share the Kansas Micro-Internship Program with you. Through this program, Kansas-based companies and organizations can receive grant funding for Micro-Internship opportunities as long as the selected student is enrolled in a Kansas public college or university.
Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that take place in all areas of an organization. These projects can be completed remotely on a year-round basis and typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work. Projects are typically due within a month of kick-off and provide your busy team with immediate support on short-term tasks. In addition, Micro-Internships support your university recruiting efforts, helping you identify, assess, and build relationships with students who may be prospective job candidates.
How do businesses use the Micro-Internship Program? Micro-Internships focus on solving the challenges many organizations are experiencing including:
Missed opportunities as existing employees have too many tasks and not enough time
Access to high caliber college students and recent grads who are excited about opportunities in Kansas
Ability to drive diversity, assess fit, and ensure successful hires
Given the nature of this program, students are not your employees or contractors.
Kansas-based companies and nonprofit organizations that select a student who is currently enrolled in a Kansas public two-year college or four-year university is eligible to receive a 50% matching micro-grant up to $250 per project (for a maximum of two projects).
Additionally, thanks to funding provided by the DeBruce Foundation, Groover Lab members are being offered special grant funding for up to $500 for their first Micro-Internship project.
To learn more about this program, we will be joined by Parker Dewey Founder/CEO Jeffrey Moss at our Friday Morning Coffee on Friday, June 18 at 9AM. During this session, you can learn more about this program, get answers to your questions about Micro-Internships, and hear how you can get started.
