Courtyard Stories
Last weekend, Maker Labs lead Jeremiah Burian and member Paul Maseberg spent Saturday afternoon installing five 23-foot 300-pound bent steel beams on our Courtyard structure.
The effort has been long coming, and Jeremiah and Paul, along with other members of the team, have spent considerable time planning the installation. Concerned about the weather and a tight timeframe, Jeremiah asked Paul if he was available to do a test run moving one of the beams from the Maker Lab to the Courtyard.
As luck would have it, Paul was already at Groover Labs, so they went to work.
After successfully moving one beam without any significant challenges, they installed it. And you know how it goes, when you’re on a roll and in the zone, you have to keep going. Tracy came down to join in the fun.
Over the course of four hours, Tracy, Jeremiah, and Paul installed all five beams without incident.
Next up: the awning. We’ll tell the full story on Jeremiah’s and Paul’s Big Adventure when the Courtyard is finished.
For now, enjoy the pictures! (Do not try this at home.)
