Groover Labs Presents Ramsey Jamoul, CEO of Unified Esports Association (formerly Midwest Esports).
This is the first in a series of discussions hosted by Groover Labs featuring technology experts in the Midwest. Even in the presence of Covid-19 we want to continue to build on our tech community, so we’ve developed a hybrid meeting model. Our speaker will lead a Zoom meeting here at Groover Labs, and we’ll have a limited, socially-distanced in-person audience as well.
Our first speaker is Ramsey Jamoul, owner and CEO of Unified Esports Association. Ramsey began his career as one of the key founders of Wichita State University’s esports team, and he was instrumental in building an infrastructure for esports in the United States. Ramsey will talk about how his relationships in the gaming industry developed into an impassioned ecosystem of amateur and professional competitors.
Esports is a subset of online gaming with a focus on competition between players—both amateurs and professionals alike—in video and computer games. A recent McKinsey and Co. study lists that global esports revenue reached $950 million in 2019 and is expected to pass $1.1 billion in 2020.
The event begins at 4:30 p.m. Limited Zoom tickets are available for free to Groover Labs members, $10 for non-members. Should circumstances change, we may convert the event to a Zoom-only format. We will update attendees accordingly.
